On June 12th, Salt & Pomegranates will present a dinner inspired by the Ukrainian city of Odessa. An international port, Odessa has historically attracted a lively mix of international characters from Greece, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkey, among others. The city’s cuisine reflects the population’s diversity in spades.
The evening’s menu*, served family-style, will reflect the some of the best of Odessa:
crepes and red caviar
fermented cherry tomatoes
pan-fried flounder in tomato sauce
tomato, onion, and cucumber salad
potatoes with butter and dill
Russian Napoleon cake
sour-cherry vareniki with crème fraîche
Mtsvane, Pheasant’s Tears amber wine from Georgia
kompot (traditional Ukrainian fruit punch)
tea with dessert
*Menu subject to change, based on availability.
